Southfield Township has been in existence since 1830. Its mission is to ensure efficient and effective day-to-day operations, identify the needs and provisions of services to citizens, determine sound policy formation by providing information and leadership to the Township Board, represent the Township and its citizens to all outside entities, and set long range planning for the future and well-being of the Township.
Our primary duties consist of the responsibility to conduct elections (federal, state, and local elections), to collect taxes ( state, county, school and some local taxes), and we assist in processing property transfer information. We issue 1yr and 3yr dog licenses and provide an Animal Control Officer that performs “dog catcher” duties and other wildlife services and offers advice to residents within the Township.
